Our Story
First and foremost, NewStart was founded on our expertise in preparing students for the GEP (Gifted Education Programme). Our founders have personally gone through the GEP preparation process with their own children and have also experienced the PSLE preparation journey. We deeply understand the challenges you are facing, which enables us to provide more targeted services and continually improve our educational system.
Secondly, we are fully aware of how crucial it is to choose the right teachers for your child’s academic progress. Therefore, all teachers at NewStart have been carefully selected based on their extensive experience in teaching under the MOE (Ministry of Education), ensuring that our teaching staff is unquestionably qualified. Our curriculum is meticulously designed and reviewed by a team of educators who have many years of experience in MOE and GEP, to ensure that every lesson aligns perfectly with the exam requirements.
In addition, we emphasize not only teaching problem-solving methods and techniques but also focus on developing your child’s study habits and logical thinking abilities, fostering their overall development.
Of course, we also have a comprehensive teaching system tailored to the PSLE exam. Our courses, especially those related to English reading, writing, and oral exams, are in high demand and often fully booked.
Finally, we warmly welcome you to join NewStart. Let’s work together to create endless possibilities for your child’s bright future!

What Parents and Students Say
My daughter Emily has been attending the GEP classes at NEWSTART since first grade, and now she's in third grade. She still loves studying here. Emily really likes the teachers at NEWSTART and enjoys collecting tokens through learning to exchange for prizes. She’s now accustomed to coming home from NEWSTART and starting with practice assignments, then working on her error correction book, followed by completing the addition section, and writing words in her word book, which she reviews whenever she has time. I’m not sure when it started, but she’s developed the habit of self-directed learning. I’m truly grateful to NEWSTART, not only for teaching Emily GEP knowledge and exam techniques but also for helping her develop good study habits, which will greatly support her future growth.
Before I sent Mark to study at NEWSTART, I had to remind him every day to read English books, but he still didn’t want to read, and his English grades weren’t good. I never expected that after just half a year at NEWSTART, Mark has developed the habit of reading at least 200 pages of English literature daily. His school English teacher even praised him for being more attentive in class and doing well on his assignments. I’m really curious about the magic of NEWSTART, and after having an in-depth conversation with the people in charge here, I discovered that NEWSTART's educational philosophy is quite unique—it blends tradition with science and innovation, focusing primarily on stimulating children's initiative in learning and promoting efficient study methods. If you have the time, you should really bring your child here to give it a try; it might just change their life.
I’ve been studying at NEWSTART for many years. I previously studied the GEP course here for three years, and I’m grateful to the teachers for their guidance and to myself for the effort I put in, which eventually allowed me to pass both the first and second rounds of exams and transfer to my desired primary school. I’m still studying English composition and writing here, and I really enjoy Mr. Wilson’s classes. Every session is incredibly rewarding, and the classroom is always filled with laughter. Whether in the past or now, I look forward to going to NEWSTART every week. This place has been the starting point of my learning journey, and I’ve met many like-minded friends here. I hope NEWSTART can bring fruitful results and joy to more kids like me."
